Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Soundtrack Review

Recently I was privileged to get advanced screening passes to Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. I was in the love the movie from the moment it started; I knew it was going to be a fun-filled and action-packed adventure. What I didnâ??t realize, was how much Iâ??d love the soundtrack. Not only was the score beautifully done by Hans Zimmer but it also features Rodrigo y Gabriela. The track list is:

1. Guilty of Being Innocent of Being Jack Sparrow
2. Angelica (feat. Rodrigo y Gabriela)
3. Mutiny
4. The Pirate That Should Not Be
5. Mermaids
6. South of Heaven’s Chanting Mermaids
7. Palm Tree Escape (feat. Rodrigo y Gabriela)
8. Blackbeard
9. Angry and Dead Again
10. On Stranger Tides
11. End Credits
12. Guilty of Being Innocent of Being Jack Sparrow (Remixed by DJ Earworm)
13. The Pirate That Should Not Be (Remixed by Photek)
14. Blackbeard (Remixed by Super Mash Bros & Thieves)
15. South of Heavenâ??s Chanting Mermaids (Remixed by Paper Diamond)
16. Palm Tree Escape (Remixed by Adam Freeland) [feat. Rodrigo y Gabriela]
17. Angry and Dead Again (Remixed by Static Revenger)
18. Angelica (Grant Us Peace Remix) [Remixed by Ki:Theory]

I think this album is an excellent addition to any Pirates fanâ??s collection. The replay value would depend mostly on the level of fandom. If you werenâ??t a fan of the movies, this album is likely not for you unless you happen to like a great score featuring Spanish style guitar. Some of my favorites from the album are: Guilty of Being Innocent of Being Jack Sparrow, Mermaids, and End Credits. The remixes were also very cool and a nice feature on the album though I prefer the original score to them.

My only real complaint about the album was the fact that the song that the mermaid sang was not featured. I think some of the shanties would have been nice. I also think a rendition of Yo Ho (A Pirates Life for Me) by Rodrigo y Gabriela would have been very cool. Overall, it is a very well done album and is worth having in your playlist. Any fan of the series should have this in their collection, Savvy?

Have a Magical Day!
