Things I Love Thursday: Disney Style
Hey everyone! Welcome to this weekâ??s Things I Love Thursday: Disney Style. This weekâ??s blog features one of my favorite Disney movies, Peter Pan. Peter Pan was released in 1953 and was the last film to be released through RKO. Peter Pan was also the last movie in which all of Disneyâ??s Nine Old Men worked together as directing animators. Peter Pan has always been one of my favorite Disney movies and I figured it deserved its own TILT. So here we go:
Second Star to the Right- This song is used during the opening credits of the movie. It is one of my favorite Disney songs. The melody and lyrics for this song are perfect for the movie. An updated version of the song was recorded by Jesse McCartney for one of the Disneymania albums, but it doesnâ??t appeal to me as much as the original.
Tiger Lilly- Tiger Lilly is one of my favorite characters in the movie, despite her short screen time. Even in the short time she is one screen and has no lines. The part of the movie when she is doing her dance for Peter cracks me up! I love his reaction we she nuzzles him! I wish they would have developed her character a bit more in Return to Neverland.
Peter Panâ??s Flight- Peter Panâ??s Flight is hands down the best movie based dark ride in the Disneyland Resort. There is something whimsical and magical that the ride has, that no other movie dark ride does. Unfortunately, this is also why there is almost always an hour long wait during the day. The part of the ride where you fly over London is pure Disney magic!
Tinker Bell- Tinker Bell has become such an iconic character in recent years; it is easy to forget that she was a minor character in Peter Pan. While I love her sassiness in Peter Pan, the character that has been developed in the new Tinker Bell movies is great. I love that she is so creative and sometimes has to learn a few lessons before getting to the right outcome.
