Things I Love Thursday: Disney Style
Hey Everyone! Welcome to this week??s Things I Love Thursday: Disney Style! This week I am going to be writing about some of the movies previewed in the Walt Disney Studios presentation that I am already in love with! These movies vary from super hero to fairy tale and from animated to live action. There are lots of great movies coming out from Disney in the upcoming year or two and I for one can??t wait!
Wreck-It Ralph- Wreck-It Ralphs tells the story of Wreck-It Ralph, voiced by John C. Reilly, an 8-bit arcade game bad guy, who is determined to prove he can be a good guy. I am fairly excited about this movie because I am a video game fan and a John C. Reilly fan. The voice talents of Jane Lynch and Sarah Silverman are also featured in this film. I love the idea of a video game movie that is based around 8-bit characters as opposed to more modern characters. Wreck-It Ralph is scheduled to be released in November of 2012.
Frankenweenie- Frankenweenie is an upcoming 3D black and white stop motion film and remake of the 1984 short film of the same name, directed by Tim Burton. Frankenweenie is about a boy named Victor, who brings his dog back to life after it is hit by a car. I remember seeing the original short when I was younger. I am looking forward to it being brought to full length and having a theater release! The release is scheduled for October 2012.
Brave- Brave is the next Pixar movie being released. Brave is Pixar??s first fairy tale and features their first female lead, Princess Merida. Merida decides to defy tradition and decides she does not want to marry and of her chosen suitors. Merida??s actions inadvertently reap consequences that she was not ready for, and when she turns to witch for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish in which she must break the curse. We were lucky to see several rough scenes from this and I have to say that this movie might take the cake and become my all time favorite Pixar movie. It is scheduled to be released June 2012.
The Avengers- I can??t even begin to say how excited I am for this movie. I think the whole thing is best summarized in a conversation (paraphrased) that takes place between Loki and Tony Stark- Loki: ??I have an army? Tony Stark: ??We have a Hulk!?. The entire crowd went wild over this quote! I think getting to see the Avengers together finally will be a great thing. The movies have been building up to this point and judging by the footage we were treated to, I don??t think we are going to be disappointed. The movie is set to release in May 2012.
